Every gift guide in this category is a list of things. But choosing something is rarely the hard part. You don't know his size, and asking would give the whole thing away.
So this one is arranged around the sizing problem rather than around products.
Three ways to get his size without asking
Read a label. The simplest method and the one people overlook. Anything he already owns in this category has a size in it. So does a well-fitting t-shirt, which gets you close on chest.
Measure a garment flat. Take something that fits him well, lay it on a table, and measure across rather than around. Double the number. Waistband across, doubled, is his waist. This works on any underwear he owns and takes thirty seconds.
Work from his trouser size. Less precise but usually close enough. His waist in inches is roughly his trouser size; add 8-10 inches for hips.

Start small and unfussy. A first piece that's too elaborate tends to sit in a drawer.

A gift card, or something from the accessories section. A chain harness or a pair of masks fits anyone, arrives looking like a proper present, and doesn't put him in the position of having to tell you it doesn't fit.
That last part is worth more than picking the perfect set. Lingerie that doesn't fit is a conversation neither of you wants on Christmas morning.
